HPF Racing Team is a coordination app for our run club — see the next run, know who's going, get there, and talk to the crew. We collect only what the app needs to do that, and we never sell it.
01Who we are
The HPF Racing Team app is operated by HORSEPOWER Fitness ("HPF", "we", "us"), which is the data controller responsible for the information described here. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at ben@benneillcoaching.com.
02Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the club and operate the app:

| Membership type (member or guest) | You self-select this; it tags how you participate. Guest participation in the runs is complimentary. |
| RSVP records | Your "going / pending / can't" status on a run, so the crew can see who's coming. This is social proof only — it is not a booking. |
| Chat content | Messages you post in the club chat channel, plus the time you sent them. |
| Push notification token | If you opt in to notifications, a device token so we can tell you about new runs. |
| Device & technical info | Basic details such as device platform and app version, used to deliver notifications and diagnose problems. |
| Profile photo (optional) | If you choose to add an avatar, it appears next to your name in the app. |
We do not collect location data in the background, contacts, health or fitness data, nor any payment information. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
03Chat: visibility & retention
The club chat is a single shared channel visible to every signed-in member of the team. Anything you post — your message text, your name, and the time — can be seen by all other members. Please treat it as a group conversation, not a private message.
Messages are retained for as long as the channel exists so the conversation history stays intact. We may remove individual messages that are reported or that breach our community standards. When you delete your account, your messages are removed along with your other data (see section 8).
Reporting and blocking. Every message can be long-pressed to report it to us or to block the sender. Blocking hides that person's messages from your view. We review reports and may remove content or remove a member from the team. By posting, you agree not to submit abusive, harassing, or unlawful content — there is zero tolerance for it.
04Push notifications
Notifications are opt-in. The app asks for permission in context, and it is fully usable if you decline. If you opt in, we store a device push token solely to notify you when a new run is posted. You can turn notifications off at any time from the Profile tab in the app or from your device's system settings; doing so stops the notifications and we remove the associated token.
05How we use your information
- To show upcoming runs, route maps, pace groups, and who's going.
- To record and display your RSVP status to the crew.
- To operate the club chat and let you report or block other members.
- To send run notifications, if you have opted in.
- To maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the app.
We never use your data for advertising or for building marketing profiles.
06Third-party services
We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, storage, and real-time chat. Your account, RSVP, and chat data live here.
- Expo — delivers push notifications to your device and supports app builds and updates.
The app may also link out to other services — for example a "View route in Strava" link, an Apple Maps directions link, or the external HPF booking link used to confirm a run. These are outbound links only; we do not share your data with Strava or Apple Maps, and opening such a link takes you into that third party's app or website, governed by their own privacy policy.
07Selling, advertising & tracking
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we include no ad networks or cross-app tracking technologies.
08Deleting your account & data
You can delete your account at any time, directly in the app: open the Profile tab and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your authentication record and your associated data — profile, RSVP records, chat messages, push token, and any avatar — from our systems. The action cannot be undone.
If you are unable to access the app, you may instead email ben@benneillcoaching.com and we will delete your account on your behalf. See our dedicated Account Deletion page for details.
Backups may retain residual copies for a short period before they cycle out, after which the data is gone.
09Children
The app is intended for adult members of the run club and is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by local law) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
10Your choices & rights
You can edit your name, membership type, avatar, and notification preference from the Profile tab, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights to access, correct, or export your data — email us and we will help.
11Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
